Lone Star First Saturday – Historic Montgomery Farmers' Market and Acoustic Music Jams
Calling all folks who appreciate homemade, homegrown goodness! The Historic Montgomery Business
Association is hosting an old-fashioned Farmers’ Market on the first Saturday of every month,
weather permitting, at the corner of FM 149 and College Street in Montgomery, Texas.
The Historic Montgomery Farmers' Market is held each month in conjunction with "Lone Star First
Saturday," with the exception of May. It's a fun and educational shopping experience for the
whole public, while supporting local farmer's dairies and nurseries. This local market features
a wide variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, eggs, plants, honey, farm products turned into
baked goods, jams, jellies, pickles, and salsas, along with homemade wares produced by local artisans.
Many participating shops and restaurants offer specials that day. The Market is located at the
intersection of FM 149 and College Street. Plus, as an added bonus, "Acoustic Music Jam
Sessions" take place on many of the porches of the shops and restaurants from 10:00 a.m.
until 2:00 p.m. Grab your violin, guitar, harmonica, or banjo, and come on down and sit a spell!
The cost to vendors for this once-per-month market is $20 per event. Setup starts at 7:00 a.m.
and must be completed by Market opening at 9:00 a.m. and continues until 2:00 p.m. Open to local
gardeners, growers, canners, cooks, crafters and creators, egg ladies and milk maids. School groups,
church groups, and non-profit groups are invited. All items for sale must be homegrown, homemade,
or locally-produced, and must be approved in advance.
